Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip is a Treatment Tip specifically designed to smooth uneven dimpled skin on the body. Part of the Thermage system, the Treatment Tip is intended to be used along with Thermage CPT. The innovative CPT technology provides optimal patient comfort while delivering visible results with just one treatment.
Thermage treatment essentially works on the principle of radiofrequency heating; this Treatment Tip merely channels the energy produced by a Thermage CPT device. Indeed, when it comes into contact with the intended treatment area of the skin, it releases a fixed amount of radiofrequency energy, which penetrates into the underlying deep layers of the skin to heat up its collagen structures. This instantly tightens and smooths the treated skin. Over time, Thermage CPT enhances the body’s natural ability to produce collagen, further improving the results.
The uniquely designed Thermage 16.0cm² Body Tip has a greater surface area; therefore, it is able to deliver treatment results twice as fast. Plus, the body tip provides uniform heating, which leads to enhanced volumetric heating; in other words, a higher volume of tissues are heated to the target temperature with the use of this Treatment Tip. Simple and fuss-free, the procedure with Thermage CPT and this Treatment Tip typically takes anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours to complete. What’s more, it has little to no downtime. Before commencing the treatment, a grid-patterned stencil should be put on the treatment area. This grid is used by physicians to place the tip more precisely. Thermage treatment involves minimal pain, even without the use of any local anesthetic. For those who are pain-sensitive, an anesthetic cream may be applied as needed. This Treatment Tip is available in 400 REP and 500 REP versions.
This Treatment Tip and the treatment it is used with is generally safe and unlikely to cause significant adverse effects. Designed to be non-invasive, treatment with Thermage CPT does not require the use of needles; this eliminates the risk of infection. Having said that, Thermage CPT treatment that involves the use of this Treatment Tip may occasionally cause untoward reactions such as bruising or swelling. Apart from that, some patients may experience skin redness. These adverse effects are usually mild in nature and usually disappear in 24 hours. As with other procedures that involve heating or cooling, Thermage CPT treatment can potentially cause skin damage. Hematoma (collection of blood outside blood vessels) may also occur in some cases, although this is highly unusual. Having little effect on the upper skin layers, this Treatment Tip and the treatment procedure it is associated with is not likely to cause hyperpigmentation (or hypopigmentation for that matter).
