Basically, Thermage 0.25cm² Eye Tip 450 REP is attached to the Handpiece of a Thermage device, which exerts a skin tightening effect through radiofrequency heating energy. This Treatment Tip releases a controlled amount of this radiofrequency energy when it comes in contact with the treatment area. This, in turn, heats up the deep collagen structures, thereby tightening the skin around the eyelid. By tightening the skin around the eyelid, a Thermage device that uses this Treatment Tip helps to correct the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the upper and lower eyelid. Thermage treatment also stimulates collagen regeneration in the skin, thus further improving the results of treatment over time.
One of the Treatment Tips available for the Thermage system, Thermage 0.25cm² Eye Tip 450 REP is designed to be used on the eyelids in conjunction with Thermage CPT. In contrast to the older generations (e.g. NXT) of Thermage devices, Thermage CPT offers greater patient comfort and involves minimal pain during the treatment process. For pain sensitive patients, a local anesthetic may be used as needed. Before using Thermage 0.25cm² Eye Tip 450 REP with a Thermage CPT device, a grid patterned stencil should be transferred to the skin of the treatment site. This grid helps to improve the precision of tip placement. A self-adhesive return pad should also be used to create a return travel path for the radiofrequency current.
Thermage treatment is virtually painless and does not cause significant downtime. In some patients, skin redness may develop after undergoing treatment with a Thermage device that utilizes Thermage 0.25cm² Eye Tip 450 REP. Apart from that, bruising and swelling may also occur. The mechanism of action of treatment with Thermage treatment with Thermage 0.25cm² Eye Tip 450 REP involves heating; therefore, there is a risk of skin damage. In rare cases, Thermage treatment can cause hematoma. Medically, hematoma refers to a localized collection of blood outside blood vessels. Thermage 0.25cm² Eye Tip 450 REP is not likely to cause hyperpigmentation (increase in skin pigmentation) or hypopigmentation (decrease in skin pigmentation). However, it could cause fat loss, especially when used along with older Thermage devices. Due the heating actions of radiofrequency energy, fat cells may be damaged and adsorbed; this in turn leads to fat atrophy.
